Services, Fees & Process
-
Proofreading is the last stage of the editing process. I will be looking for items that previous editorial passes have missed. I will not suggest different words or rewrite sentences; however, if I should come across a glaring error that a previous editor has missed, I will flag it for you.
I will find and correct the following:
•Typos
•Double words
•Grammatical errors
•Punctuation errors
•Misspelled words
•Formatting issues
-
Since every document is unique, I will need a sample of your work to provide you with the most accurate price. This sample would ideally come from somewhere near the middle of your project. My proofreading fees start at $.015/word and are based on varied factors:
•Amount of words/length of project
•Turnaround time
•Subject matter
•Format in which you need the document proofed
•Any additional items such as headers, footers, or links
-
First step: Click the “Book Now” button. Here is where I get to know your project. You can send me a small sample of the project, indicate what your timeframe for completion is, and include things such as word and page count and the content of your work. There are distinctive styles in which you may work—CMOS, APA, MLA—this would be the time to indicate that.
I primarily work with Microsoft Word, but I can also work with Google Docs and PDFs. If you have another format you are working with, this would be the ideal time to let me know. If you do not have a preference, I will work in Microsoft Word, using the “Track Changes” feature to make edits, which allows you to accept or reject changes easily.
Second step: I will review all the information and send you a free, personalized quote so you will know how much it will cost and when you could expect to have your work completed.
Third step: Once you have agreed to and signed the contract, I will begin to make your work shine!
I will always stay in contact with you in case questions should arise. This will help to ensure that I get your intended message across to your audience!
Fourth step: When I have finished the work, I will send you an invoice.
Fifth step: This is the last step in our journey. Once the invoice is paid, I will send you a polished paper and a paper with all documented changes.
Even though we have reached our last step in the process, I still welcome any correspondence from you. If you have any questions regarding the work, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here for YOU!
Around this time, I will send you a follow-up email to make sure you are completely satisfied with the work.
