​“Seeking help with my first manuscript, I believed I was at the mercy of whichever proofreader looked best on paper. I needed help with what I had written, of course, but I also hoped to at least make a reasonable choice of proofreaders since I had no experience to draw from. Now that the project has been completed and I have experience under my belt, I do not see how I could have made a better choice than Barbara Breakey. From our very first contact and throughout her work, Barbara maintained constant communication with me, initially to confirm my preferences (with great patience and providing much education) and later to keep me updated with her progress. Even more than her communication, though, I was comforted by the sincere compassion she had for the effort I put into my writing. What I have learned from Barbara along the way will help me with my future writing, particularly in punctuation and structuring. I have also learned that regardless of any improvement I hope to make, my decision to have the work proofread was absolutely the correct choice. And, finally, after working with Barbara, I know that my future proofreading needs already have a home that I can trust.”
